Dinosaur Escape - boardgame review

I decided this year that now my youngest is getting to the age where she can cope with simple games that a nice family tradition to start would be to buy a Christmas board game that we could all enjoy.
This year following reviews from Let Toys Be Toys we bought the cooperative game Dinosaur Escape.

The synopsis is that you are helping 3 dinosaurs to escape the mainland to dinosaur island before the volcano erupts. You need to turn over a token with a matching dinosaur to the one in the same quadrant to move to the island.
You each take it in turns to roll the dice, move a dinosaur and turn over a token (or add a piece of volcano if you roll a volcano picture). As a cooperative game it helps children to learn sharing and teamwork by suggesting which dinosaur to move and helping each other to remember what the flipped over tokens are.

It says 4+ on the box but comes with instructions for younger players (you leave the tokens over so don't need to remember them) and with a bit of support with counting spaces and despite developing a bit of an aggressive affinity for one of the dinosaurs (You don't have individual tokens and can move any dinosaur on your turn) my nearly 3 year old was able to play.
It states a play time of 10 minutes but our games were much shorter than that, possibly because there are less turns in the easy version. However this was a good length of time for my kids short attention span and meant we could play a few times without them getting bored.
The only downside is that we've played about 10 times now and been nowhere near a volcanic eruption threat, but I'm sure this could be fixed by having 1 or 2 pieces of volcano already on the board. There's a 1 in 6 chance of rolling a volcano and 5 pieces of volcano so you'd need 30 turns for the volcano to win.
Overall my kids enjoyed the game, enjoyed the 3d aspect and was simple enough for my nearly 3 yo to grasp. Also as a cooperative either we all won or we all lost so no one went off in a huff!
